Welcome to the world of ALUCARD I created Alucard before I began plotting the story for TORMENTOR. This map I drew of Demetri and Burbouns (two rivaling countries) led to the whole storyline, but as you can see, it is different from the final map you can see at the end (Burbouns and Demetri turned into Old and New Demetri instead for reasons given in the book). I found out about world building on Holly Lisle’s website and soon fell inlove with this great invention! Not only can I realistically bring forth the journey in the mind of the reader, but this gives me a much wider perspective of the world I created. Some people may ask “Why did you make such a big map?” Well, the answer is simple… When I did this, I was hoping TORMENTOR would be a series of books (which maybe it could still be if I write the story the right way) World building is a great tool which ANYONE can do, no matter how bad your drawing skills are, as long as you know what you drew! I hope this inspires some of you to start world building as well, it’s actually almost as fun as writing the story! ;)
Below is the Geopolitcal map of Alucard: ![]() Below are the pictures of West Alucard and East Alucard along with the key and scale and North sign (which I just did for fun). I gave each culture a specific color and colored in the colors on the map as well to show territory etc. Though not all the land are owned by these five cultures I created (Lieudorians, Otorius people, Parcians, Monastious people and the Castren) some of the land is either unexplored or uninhabited because of certain reasons as infertility or unlivable conditions, such as deserts. There are also headhunters in Alucard as well as unthinkable creatures who roam some parts of the unexplored or unclaimed parts. I named every village, city and town as well as the rivers and oceans or sacred relics and ruins that are all over Alucard’s surface.
